Oh deer! And, oh dear, the pitfalls of being a politician...

In Tuesday's blog entry, Idiot No 8 was this presumably fictitious person who wanted a "Deer Crossing" sign to be removed because too many deer were crossing at that spot and getting killed! Now I am not so sure that it is a made-up joke, having seen this YouTube video clip titled "Please move the deer crossing"...

Sydney's tabloid Daily Telegraph had this front page headline, "PM's fall from grace" while the Sydney Morning Herald's was "Gillard flat out on Indian tour". But kudos to Ms Gillard for composing herself very quickly and laughing the incident off.

This 3AW online story has a video clip of the moment, in slow motion to boot!...

How did the proof-checkers not see the inexplicable "State of Secretary" in the sub-heading?

ST's own blooper today (Oct 18, below) -- while having nothing to do with politicians -- trampled on a hallowed journalistic tradition: the aversion to meaningless words and phrases, such as "broad daylight":

I'll wrap up with this cleverly conceived ad (although I think Halloween has no place in Singapore, unless we are hoping to become the 51st state of the USA)...
