It's a 1982 DeLorean DMC-12 (the type featured in the Michael J. Fox movie "Back to the Future"). At least one person in Singapore has one, and he's selling it -- for $168,000. Some family members (you know who you are) have unkindly mocked the name. Fluence? Doesn't that sound like the stuff that's discharged from the sewers? Hah!

To flow (example, a flowing stream, from the French "fluere");
To put the fluence on is to use one's mysterious, magical, or hypnotic power, hence the derivative term, "to influence".
