Gangnam Style gongxi-gongxi, that famous sizzling python act, and a dong-dong-chiang moment...

The Gangnam Style craze ain't over! This eatery popped up in my neighbourhood...

I have not taken a meal there yet, so I don't know how they whip up a "Gangnam Style" barbeque. But we seem to have interesting Korean people making a living here. Remember this pic?...

Meanwhile, Chinese New Year celebrations ain't over yet too. Chinese people celebrate it over 15 days, so Feb 24 is "Chap Goh Mei" (15th Night of the New Lunar Year; that's when we should see a full moon). Tom sent me this "Gangnam Style" Chinese New Year gongxi, gongxi YouTube video parody titled "Oppa Cai Shen Dao"...

So it seems that, thus far, the Year of the Water Snake has been -- apart from showering us here with daily heavy afternoon rain -- somewhat weird. Still, going by the standards of sssssizzling snakes alive!, nothing beats the bad old days of the 1950s and '60s when the then "Queen of Striptease", Rose Chan, thrilled cabaret-goers (not me, I was too young) with acts like this one below, accompanied by a snaky partner:

Actually, Rose Chan's chequered "snakes and ladders" life story is a fascinating one, if what's written about her in this Wikipedia bio is reliable...

Finally, to give a resounding "bang" to wrap up this Chinese New Year-themed blog entry, budget airline Scoot came up with this ad:

But I wonder why the ad -- with the "dong-dong-chiang" tag was short-lived... I saw it appear only once, in TODAY. It did make me recall a very, very politically incorrect joke, though. All I would put here is the part attributed to how Chinese festive "music" sounds to the ear:

Untong, untong, dong, dong, chiang!
Untong, untong, dong, dong, chiang!
