If you are a baby boomer (or older) -- and only if you are a baby boomer (or older) who does not read the newspapers, watch TV or go online to read stuff like my blog -- you are forgiven for not knowing what all the fuss is about this strange word called "twerk". It was the butt of one young woman, Miley Cyrus (again, you are forgiven if...) that has since launched a thousand wisecracks, send-up videos, serious commentaries, etc, etc, on this one word.
Even the venerable Oxford Dictionary was quick to get in on the act:
BuzzFeed.com (from whence the above screen grab came from) has a compelling piece titled We Just Lived Through The Most Twerk-Filled Week In Human History...

But, as the ad folks would say, wait, there's more! Indeed. Read this story and watch the embedded videos, especially Nos 2, 4, 7 and 11 (at least one of the 11 videos has since been deleted though):
11 Hilarious Dancing Dogs That Can Twerk Better Than Miley Cyrus

My favourite is No 2. That dog is amazing!

Meanwhile, over in Singapore's own Ang Mo Kio town, they've invented the Tomato Dance!
Why not? Ang Mo Kio, in Hokkien, can mean "tomato".

While in Indonesia, there was the Dangdut...
Remember the controversial Indonesian dancer, Inul Daratista, and her gyrating dance, the Dangdut? And did Miley Cyrus take a leaf from her? To wrap up, here's one story about Inul:
