I found this old photo of How Tiong and his Anglo-Chinese School (ACS) classmates, Standard 6A, Class of 1953:

There were signatures on the back of the photo. I wonder if any of his classmates are still alive...

Apparently, his maths teacher Yap Ah Chuan had a formidable reputation, as recalled by some from the ACS Class of '57:
