Forget the 5 C's... you just need 3 C's: (a comfy) Chair; (great) Coffee; and (dark) Chocs!

The 1st C: The politics of choosing chairs
Herman and Miller

The old chairs we use for computer surfing at home were getting long in the tooth. Unlike the Ministry of Manpower, we were not about to buy Herman Miller designer chairs at $575 each:

So we went to V.Hive, tested out and got ourselves two very confortable chairs (both same model) for a sale-price total of $260. We are calling them Herman and Miller:

Herman is on the left while Miller is on the right. Wait a minute, is that Miller on the left? Who knows, who cares! Anyway, Killer decided to check them out too while Brady slept:

There have also been "mini" additions to the boo kia ee (traditional mother-child chair):

And of course Killer just had to step in:

I also discovered that chairs have a status "pecking order". If you think you are presidential material with a presidential bum, a bum rap of a lowly-class chair won't do. Even if you are on a budget, it has to be a...

But if you are just an office worker, you have to settle for this one...

That's the politics of chairs for you.

The 2nd C: Coffee can help stave off Alzheimer's?

That's what a study claims:

For coffee drinkers, the news on the humble bean’s health benefits just keeps getting better and better. The latest: University of Illinois researchers have linked consumption of caffeinated products to a reduced risk of Alzheimer's disease and identified the mechanisms at work.

"We have discovered a novel signal that activates the brain-based inflammation associated with neurodegenerative diseases, and caffeine appears to block its activity,” said Gregory Freund, a professor in the University of Illinois College of Medicine and a member of its Division of Nutritional Sciences. “This discovery may eventually lead to drugs that could reverse or inhibit mild cognitive impairment."

[As usual, caveat emptor when reading such stuff.]
